Meandering Monday #1

Hello friends!  I have decided that on Monday I would like to do a little Meandering around Blogland.  Since there is so much out there to see, I am loving that I now have an excuse to just peruse.  Each picture will have a link  back to that project or tutorial if there is one.  I am going to also add a link to the name of each blog that will take you to their home page.
This Monday, I started my meandering at one of my favorite link parties.

Kojo Designs is an amazing blog that I stalk frequently.  They have very stylish projects and fabulous parties.  This link party begins on Friday but bloggers continue to add projects all weekend, so it is a great place to find inspiration on a Monday.

Here is a project that I found the Fun Friday Finds link party.  I am in love with this headband by Made it on Monday.   She has a great tutorial too.

I guess I am on a hair accessory journey today because I am loving this adorable way to hold a little girls hair bows.  I found it on This Present Life.

I have had some technical difficulty with this posting.  So, I am going to cut it short for this week.  I will try again next week.  Sorry, I'm still learning how to add links and such. ;)

Pink and Chocolate Party!

For several weeks I have been scouring the blogs for party ideas.  Our beautiful daughter turned 3 this week and we wanted a party as sweet as she is.  We decided to do a pink and chocolate party.  The idea was that we would have a yummy party that made our daughter's heart happy.  We had a great turn out and she had a lot of fun.

This beautiful cake was made for us by Jessie Mancha.

We let our guests make their own goodie bags.
I think the kids (and the adults) had fun doing this.

Here is a closer look at some of the yummies.

I have seen a lot a adorable pics in blogland of DIY Photo Booths and I knew we wanted to do one.  So, my fabulous hubby constructed a back drop out of PVC Pipe and a brown velvet curtain.  Then I made some props out of felt and sticks.  We also found some great chalkboard speech bubbles so we put two of them on sticks.  I found some old pictures at the thrift store.  I took the pictures and glass out of them and painted the frames in fun pinks.  Here are some of the pictures that were created in our photo area of the party.  Some of them used the backdrop and others just grabbed the props and had fun.

This is Mia the Birthday Girl!

Here are is the name topiary that I posted a few days ago.  I just wanted you to see it in action.

We had an incredible day and so appreciate all of the love we received from our friends and family.  I can't believe that our daughter is three years old.  We met when she was 15 months old, and since that day, our hearts grow larger every moment we spend with her.

I am linking this project to the following parties:

Birthday Beach Day

Tomorrow is our beautiful daughter's 3rd Birthday.  She is completely in love with the beach and the ocean.  So, when we asked her if she wanted to go to Disneyland or to the beach, she said the beach.  I know!  Children everywhere are gasping.  But, I have to say that we have season passes to Disneyland and use them as often as we can.  We live about 2 1/2 hours from the beach but hadn't been since July.  This beach trip was actually her idea.  About a month ago, she started collecting change at her Grandma's and also at her Great-Grandma's houses.  She told them that she needed money for her "beach trip".  At that time, we had no plans of going to the beach.  But, since she was "saving up", thanks to her Jamma and Nana, we had to plan a trip.  We got up this morning and headed for Avila Beach, California.  This is our favorite beach!!!!!  About a week ago, our daughter also started talking about wanting a kite.  Since it was a little windy at the beach, we got her one there.  I think her daddy enjoyed the kite the most.  He had forgotten just how much he loved flying a kite.  Here are some of the pics I captured of our fun beach day.
